1. Cats in heat are so gross. I just cannot stress that enough. All the bawling and rolling around and sticking her butt up in the air. Ugh! She is so getting spayed…
2. Finding a mouse nest is gross. Finding one with mummified baby mice is completely disgusting.
3. Maggots are gross too.
4. I got the master bathroom (mostly) cleaned up and turned over to the hubbster. Since he works nights and is in bed asleep during my awake time, that needs to be his area. He’ll get the bedroom too (that’s a major mess), but that isn’t a high priority. But when he saw I was cleaning the bathroom he said, “I was going to get around to that in a few months…” hahaha
5. I cleaned out and organized the kitchen pantry. I even threw stuff away. 🙂 I’m really kind of amazed at the number of appliances we have. Yeah, that is mostly what’s in the pantry. Appliances, the big stock pot, dutch oven, & pressure cooker.
6. I had my first bison burger. I didn’t notice a huge difference between it and ground beef. Neither did the hubby. The daughter thought it was great.
7. I bought quail and cooked them. That may not ever happen again. It tastes fine, just looks a little creepy. I guess because they are so much smaller than the Cornish game hens.
8. Finally ordered a new bucket assembly for the carpet cleaner. *sigh* That’s all I have to say about that.
9. The filter in one of my vacuums is so bad, it won’t suck. The other vacuum smells like dog.
10. I really don’t have anything else for the list, but 10 just feels more complete than 9. 😉
Wow! That’s quite the manic list..
The cat in heat would drive me up the wall too.
Random list posts work rather well when I can’t really come up with anything. lol
I really should get a recording of her “doing her thang.” The 2 unfixed dogs have been in heat too, but they get/stay banished outside until it’s over. It’s a different kind of gross…
I have already heard it before. Fregging annoying… and it’s gross whenever you move around them too.
Yep.
Mmmmm, bison!
Way to go on all the cleaning. How are you liking that book?
Thanks for sharing all the grossness…
I had another bison burger last night. I really still can’t tell enough of a difference between it and cow to justify $11/lb. lol
It’s ok. Some of the chapters are GREAT and some are just kind of eh. I read one last night that the rest of my family needs to read…
I’m here for you. 😉
Always nice to knock things off your list. A few years ago, I started tossing items, that I had previously held onto, it felt great.
Today, I’m cleaning my daughter’s room. I gave her fair warning, so she can’t complain when she can’t locate things. 😉
I made my daughter clean up her room a few weeks ago and she filled up 8 33-gallon garbage bags. That was crazy. But she’s been pretty good about keeping her room picked up since. I’m about to give my son the clean it up or lose privileges ultimatum…again… 😉
I’ve got a lot to go through and toss….
A few years ago, when I tossed things out of our home, I know it filled that many trash bags. A lot of the stuff I donated to Purple Heart, but others I simply trashed.
I was a neat packrat, but still a packrat. 🙂
My daughter is lucky, I didn’t get to clean her room yesterday, but she’s not so lucky today. I’ve already started clearing it out!
I’m not even a neat packrat. 😉 But my dad was a neat packrat until he got old and did full-on hoarding of junk. My junk, I can probably manage to throw away. There are a lot of knicknacks from here and there that may end up becoming a photo and then finding a new home. 🙂
Where are you buying your bison meat?! That’s expensive!! Generally, bison meat doesn’t even have to be organic, because they don’t raise it factory-style like cows. 9 times out of 10, it’s going to be healthier than cow meat – there’s not a big taste difference. The bison might be a smidge richer.
Honestly, I got zero out of that book – I was thinking it was a book with organization tips, but I am already a “cleanie”, so none of the “messie” stuff applied to me… I have messy parts of my house simply due to lack of time and energy – not motivation. I actually LOVE to clean and organize. lol
I don’t know what I paid for it at Harris Teeter, but I paid the $11/pound at Lowes Food AFTER the rewards card discount. My Trader Joe’s/Whole Foods trip Friday night was a fail…except for Powerberries. 😉
I am getting more of a “why I am the way I am” than any practical stuff. I know how to organize, I just can’t keep it up. I think I said this last week, there is big lack of discipline, mainly self-discipline, in my house…and not just me… :headbang:
Yuck to the first few items on your list. LOL. I hear exactly what you are saying about the lack of discipline. It’s not that we don’t know HOW, it’s just getting into the good habits to keep up with things. But I do think getting rid of clutter is the first big step. It really is easier to take care of the things you have when you don’t have too many things! Anyway, don’t give up. New habits take time to become real habits. And you’ve made big progress already!!!
It’s a slow road to recovery. LOL I think that big huge major cleaning we did at my mom’s after my dad died was the catalyst for me to see where I was headed with clutter. I only wear a quarter of the shirts in my closet. That’s a problem. I’m up to half the pants now that I can fit back into some I grew out of. LOL
