Funday Friday Miscellany

1. I am bipolar today. I woke up ready to kill the white cat. I’m not sure she will survive until I can get her spayed. But then as I was taking stuff out to the van, it was just so nice and peaceful out that I got instant good mood. But then I got to work. *sigh*

2. Remember when I said “Be real”? Yeah, I had to eat my words and be real this week. It really isn’t fun even when you know the response will be in love…and it was.

3. Had my 2nd follow up with the ENT this week, after totally forgetting about and missing the original appointment last week. Everything looks good and I don’t have to go back for 6 months.

4. Speaking of the ENT appointment, I figured since my lunch was heavy on onion & garlic and the doc would be up close & personal to my face, it would be kind to brush my teeth before I went. That’s one of the reasons I keep a toothbrush & toothpaste in my desk at work. That and in case I forget before I leave home. Yes, that has happened and is also why I have deodorant in my desk. Anyway, I haven’t used Colgate since like January? I’ve been using Tom’s flouride free which took some getting used to, and now I know why. The Colgate was like brushing my teeth with sugar. Seriously. I’m not a big fan of Tom’s either and may just go straight baking soda & peroxide when it’s empty.

5. I caved to a temptation a few weeks ago and bought a soda. It was not good, and so I didn’t drink it even though I used to love it.

6. I ran at lunch today and now I hurt.

7. Needs/Wants the time & motivation to fix my sewing machine and then the time & motivation to actually sew. I’m also thinking about trying (again) to learn how to crochet. Opal inspires me.

8. My mom turns 80 next month. 80. That’s old. She is the second oldest in her family now with one cousin older than her.

9. I keep wondering when/how/if I got glutened since the Andy’s incident over 3 weeks ago. Either I have been glutened since (despite being careful) or I have been paying for that one big time…and long time…

10. I need a vacation. A real vacation. It doesn’t have to be very long. Just a weekend would do the trick.

  1. Wow, you’ve been busy. You know… there’s a stray cat around our way that’s been yowling and making all sorts of racket in the wee morning hours. Initially I thought it was fighting with another cat, but now I’m not so sure. I’m thinking something else is going on.

I can’t tolerate gluten either, but it doesn’t bother my daughter at all. So I still make her homemade pizza’s. She likes those better than the ones from the restaurant.

I use Tom’s and another toothpaste I can’t think of at the moment. Haven’t touched the standard toothpaste in years.

Oh, we love sewing. My daughter has comissioned me to make clothing for her Monster High dolls.

I’d say go for it with crochet. I held off for so long because it frustrated me. This time around I was determined to hang in there, and I did. The first few weeks weren’t pretty though. But I’ve finally moved past the point where my stitches are too tight. I’m remembering to count, and my noncircular rows don’t look wacky anymore. Definitely check out Teresa Richardson on Youtube, she goes by two user names; Crochet and tjw1963.

I hope you, and your family have a great weekend! :rocker:

      I’m betting that wasn’t fighting… 😉

It may or may not bother my kids. If it does, it’s just the “light” stuff I dealt with growing up that wasn’t an issue until the past few years when the big stuff popped up.

I like sewing as long as I can finish a project in a day…and close to being one sitting. I much prefer woodworking. lol

I think this winter I will tackle crochet again. 🙂

Being real… that’s one of those things that I want everyone else to be real, but it was a long road to starting to practice it myself. It’s so freeing though, and so how God meant our relationships to be. 🙂

Tom’s doesn’t taste fantastic, but I like it better than baking soda and peroxide. I have thought of going back to that though, 1. For the price, and 2. Because its so much healthier for your teen and gums.

Yeah, I used to LOVE soda. I remember the day I tried some, after not having it for a year or two, and realized it was disgusting. I was shocked. lol

    Gluten – cross-contamination is highly likely. :-/

    Vacation sounds fabulous!!

You know, I’m finding it depends on who you are being real to has something to do with the level of uncomfortableness. No, scratch that. It’s the number of people you are being real with at once. One at a time is easier than multiple folks at once. 😉

I expect the baking soda & peroxide are going to taste worse than Tom’s. My mom has been brushing with just baking soda for years.

I was shocking!!! It was Cheerwine. I gave it to Chad and decided I am done.

The antibiotic is still suspect though because since I had the probiotic, one issue seems to be getting back to normal. 😉

I am way overdue for some beach time…

Opal has always been one to inspire.

I hope you get kitty fixed before you kill her though.
