Mix dry ingredients together. Add enough milk to mix well. Pour remaining milk in pan. Add the cocoa mixture. Stir constantly until desired thickness.
My cousin gave me that recipe when I married and said it tasted just like our Granny’s choc gravy when Granny would say “Oh, I got too much sugar in it.” Sharon liked it with “too much” sugar; I didn’t so much. LOL So, I think 1 cup is too much sugar. I’ve never played with the recipe though to decide just how much sugar is the right amount for me. Oh, and another preference thing with choc gravy, some of us (us being me & my cousins) would add a little butter when we put it on our biscuits. Now that I am “grown up” thinking about that, it would have been a lot simpler to butter my biscuits and THEN put the choc gravy on. LOL
