5 things I’m loving

I was going to do this, and then I decided not to do it, but I have decided again to go ahead and do it. Over at Shut Up and Run, she has a post up called 5 Things I’m Loving Right Now, and she wants folks to blog their 5 things and tag 5 more to do it. Well, you know I never miss an opportunity to link whore, so here goes.

1. Raw almond butter. First of all, I hate peanut butter. I hate peanuts. So while I can eat a pb&j if I am desperate, it will be just that – desperation. But I thought I would give the almond butter a try since I love almonds, and WOW! That stuff is the bomb!

2. Running 3 miles straight. I’ve never run that far in my life. Previous record was 2 miles and that was only out of fear of getting washed back in basic training.

3. Egg sandwiches. Note that doesn’t say egg salad, which I hate. I fry a couple of eggs like an omelette, and put it on toasted bread with some mustard and a slice of swiss cheese. Yummy!!!!

4. Watermelon. This has always been a love, but here lately it’s been like a craving. I can eat a butt-ton of it, get filled up, and it’s a zero or negative calorie burner so it’s win-win. Yes, I know it’s mostly water, but it’s naturally sweet water.

5. My inner circle of friends. These are the ones who know most (if not all) of my dirt, and love me anyway. πŸ™‚ They listen to me whine about my problems, tell me straight up when I am screwing up, make me run when I don’t wanna, encourage me, make me laugh when I want to wallow in self-pity, and pray for me.

Being the nonconformist that I am, I am tagging 6 of yuns (yes, pronounce that just like I spelled it because that’s how I said it in my head). Diane, MacBros, Opal @ Celebrate Life, Teeni, Molly, Petra

    5. And since you listen to my rants, it’s only fair that I put up with yours too. πŸ˜›

Also, I don’t do Memes Remember?

    • DragonLady says:

Oh, right. I forgot about you & memes. Well, heck. I didn’t want you to feel left out. lol πŸ™‚

Trust me. Almond butter is.the.bomb! Yeah, I can eat that stuff right out of the jar! πŸ™‚

  2. Great list!! I am a huge fan of almond butter and egg sandwiches as well. But NOT egg salad.

    Congrats on three miles!

  3. Teeni says:

Okay, I am not a meme-r either but I will take this on as part of another post and link back to you because I love you anyway. πŸ™‚
I am surprised that you love almond butter and not peanut. I like them all, I guess. Have you tried sunflower seed butter? It has a naturally slightly sweet taste. I like it but it is a bit runnier than other butters. Good for smoothies. I love watermelon but hubby won’t touch it or any other melons (well, except MINE, you know -forget I said that, TMI). LOL. And eggs are awesome. I think I have liked them every possible way I’ve had them except for hollandaise sauce. Egg salad is so yummy! But it is okay if you don’t like it. I won’t judge you by your palate. Okay, this comment is turning into a post of its own so I will stop now. But I will post about my five things soon and link you up!

It’s ok Teeni, you don’t have to do it if you don’t do memes. I was only going to hold Molly’s feet to the fire for this anyway. hahahaha! I also didn’t want to tag other bloggers that I don’t really “know”, you know? πŸ™‚

I never have liked peanut butter. My mom used to laugh whenever the commercial came on that said “Everyone loves peanut butter” and I would reply “No, not everyone.” Almond butter was my first try and it was really an impulse buy. πŸ˜‰ I will probably try others, except hazelnut. Not a huge fan…

      ROFL @ the melons!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      I can’t stand boiled eggs…except for deviled eggs. πŸ™‚

  4. I like almond butter too, did you make it? I make my own, cashew butter is also good.

I like watermelon, and it’s a natural dieuretic. It’s great for healing the kidneys, antioxidant, aids in digestions, and a lot of other good stuff. We eat it a lot of ways, when I use it in smoothies, I mix it with other melons.

Oh… I see I’ve been tagged, woohoo I now have a Saturday post. It’ll be up later today.

    • DragonLady says:

No, it was an “impulse” buy. lol But I’ve been wanting to try it for ages. I have a bag of cashews sitting on my desk that I need to do something with. I like them but I just can’t sit and eat them like almonds, pecans, walnuts…

I ate an entire watermelon one afternoon at work. And had a cup of coffee, and it ended up being a “fun” ride home even though I went to the bathroom before I left. I still ended up running in the house to empty again. πŸ™‚

      Yay! :party2:

  5. Petra says:

I will do this. One day. lol

I wish I liked almonds! They are so much healthier than peanuts!! But alas, I will keep gorging myself on peanut butter.

    So so awesome!!!

Replace the mustard with tomato, and yum!

Watermelon – mmmmm. I should get some.

    Love being your friend! πŸ™‚
