Be ready

Hmm. Didn’t post all last week. Excuse I have. Had Swine Flu. Ok, not officially, but Chad brought home a letter from school June 8 stating 2 possible (but at the time) but unconfirmed cases of the swine flu. He woke up with fever next day, which he had for 3 days along with fatigue. June 10, both cases were confirmed Swine Flu. Last week, Jamie ran a fever for a couple of days, and no sooner was she over the fever, than I got a headache, followed by a sore throat. I was exhausted and generally felt like crap. Plus, stressed because my boss was on vacation and I had to be boss, and I don’t like being the boss. Happy I am that back at work is she.

Busy week again in store, because this week is VBS, and the hubby and I are actually VBS workers. Yikes! So if I don’t post anymore this week, there’s my excuse. LOL

1 Peter 3:8-18 (New International Version)

Suffering for Doing Good
8Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. 9Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing, because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing. 10For,
“Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
11He must turn from evil and do good;
he must seek peace and pursue it.
12For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
13Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good? 14But even if you should suffer for what is right, you are blessed. “Do not fear what they fear; do not be frightened.” 15But in your hearts set apart Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect, 16keeping a clear conscience, so that those who speak maliciously against your good behavior in Christ may be ashamed of their slander. 17It is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil. 18For Christ died for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, to bring you to God. He was put to death in the body but made alive by the Spirit,

All this swine flu media is just Hype. It was bad in Mexico, simply because their health care system is below standards. The health care here and in the US are pretty damn good and if you’re feeling the flue coming on, go get your shot and you’ll be fine. Especially if your an elderly person or somebody with poor health. Which is the people who are dying from it in the first place.

The media really blows the real news out of proportion.

If they would just tell people what they need to hear, like treatment and the signs of it, instead of ‘IN YOUR FACE’ and ‘YOU WILL DIE TODAY!’ news.

It’s things like this that you would rarely see the news on my TV.

So I see that the swine flu hype aggravates you as much as it does me. :rofl2: I didn’t even get any fever with it. But, yeah, it’s less potent, and less prevalent than regular flu which actually KILLS WAY MORE PEOPLE EVERY YEAR. :pullhair:

  2. MacBros says:

OH, and glad your all feeling better. ๐Ÿ˜›

  3. Mel says:

Well I don’t care what any of you say. Still scares the hell out of me. Any flu. People dying from that crap. Glad you’re all feeling better, DL/

    • DragonLady says:

My husband once wrote a paper about the flu pandemic of 1918, and that scared the mess out of me enough that I didn’t do my normal attempt at avoiding a flue shot that year. Granted, that only lasted as long as I wore a uniform. LOL I would very much like to be rid of this lingering sinus crap. Now it feels more like a cold, but it’s still way better than I felt last week. ๐Ÿ™‚

Glad you’re better. Flu sucks, any variety! Have fun at VBS!

    • DragonLady says:

The last time I really had the flu, I was in 4th grade, and it had me down a week. I’ve never gotten sick like that since, and I’m glad. Oh, wait, I take that back. That ear infection I had a few years ago around my birthday topped that due to sheer pain. ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

VBS wore me out, and it’s just the first night. This is going to be rough. LOL We’ve got a pretty good bunch of kids though.

I pray your family is feeling better. Thank you for the verses. I use the NIV, too. :hugs:

There are two cartoons today that capture the mood of many. For those of you who’ve been somewhere in the woods for the past week or so, President Obama has released those Chinese terrorists from Gitmo to go to Bermuda on our dime. Yup…
