…and I have a feeling I probably won’t. I seem to be putting everything on World anyway. I’m not going to delete this one or anything. I just probably won’t ever post anything myself. The kids and hubby each have accounts on here so maybe someday one of them will post something here. Maybe.

1 each. I met with Jamie’s teachers Friday after school. We are all on the same page, and they suggested coming up with some kind of plan for Jamie to earn back her tv/computer/game privileges. That sounds like a great idea. Punish bad behavior; reward good behavior. Her social studies teacher said Jamie did really well on a project she worked on last week, and showed the work that she should be doing in everything. So I took Jamie to Quizno’s for lunch yesterday to reward her for that.
Jamie was invited to a small birthday party for one of her friends, and so we went to pick up a present. I also picked up a couple of board games for the kids to play. I got them Trouble because I remembered how much I liked playing it when I was a kid, not that I ever had that game. I think I enjoyed the birthday party as much as the kids. I sat with the moms and just had a great time chatting with them. Funny thing that they each looked at our house the last two times it was for sale. LOL Really nice ladies, and the one lady has invited me to church and knows some good (and low cost) roofers.

Yesterday, I knew the kids had gone outside, but I couldn’t see them anywhere. However, off in the woods a ways, I heard kids and figured they were mine. Now that it’s too cold for ticks, I took off out there too. Sure enough, it was Jamie and Chad. We walked a bit down the hill, and I though the whole time “This could be Birdtown.” Well, it’s not quite grown up enough with sawbriers, and the spring runs the wrong way, and is barely there, but still. It was a very nice time out there with them. There is a small clearing that I think will make a great place for us to have a picnic like my mom used to do with me every now and then.

Thursday night, about 9:30pm, I was laying in bed watching a movie. Jamie came in and asked, “Mommy, can you sign this piece of paper for no reason at all?” Hmm, no reason? Right. I looked at it, and it was just a small piece of blank paper. I handed it back to her and said, “No, but why?” She answered “No reason at all,” and did so very nonchalantly. “Jamie, do you have something I need to sign?” “No,” she said and walked out. Uh, huh.
5 minutes later she is back in tears with some paperwork. “Mommy, I was afraid to give you these because I knew you would ground me, but now I know I’m going to be in even more trouble.” Understatement. Once again, she has not been doing her homework. Tests and quizzes are A’s, but homework is just about all F’s across the board. It’s going to be a miserable Christmas break for her without any TV or games. Perhaps I might have to step it up a notch, and also take away her art.
“Oh, what a tangled web we weave…”

Which Jamie and Chad have spent in the house. I made a trip to WalMart yesterday to get trash bags and some film developed. I forget how much I hate shopping around the holidays. However, I got almost all of my Christmas shopping done for the family. Well, the kids anyway. James wants that new George Foreman grill for Christmas. That will depend on what kind of bonus I get.
Got some wood split yesterday and enjoyed the evening messing with the fire. I think I will get some more split today despite the obviously pulled muscle on my left side just below my arm. I’m sure that I pulled that carrying those 3 toy boxes up into the kids’ playhouse.
The cat has decided she likes to nap in one of the planters on the front porch. Crazy cat. Of course she picked the only one that still had any living plants in it and killed my lavender. That’s alright though. She better enjoy it while she can because those planters will be taken down permanently soon.

Since I just LOVE WordPress, and Joomla is a pain to do what I was trying to do with it, I just installed a second instance of WordPress and set up the Realm. Who knows? Maybe now I will actually keep this updated. HAHAHAHA Well, laugh.

Both kids got A’s and B’s on their report cards for the first 9 weeks. Considering the low grades Jamie had at the middle, that was no small feat for her. Both are currently grounded for other things until Thanksgiving Day. Jamie got a case of potty mouth at school, and Chad spilled food and drink in rooms where no food or drink should have been.

Since I decided to make this the family news site, I figured I should bring it up to date.
We bought a house in January here in North Carolina out in the country. It’s 35-36 years old, and needs quite a bit of work, but nothing we can’t do ourselves. Except for the roof and the central heat/air, but those are projects for next year.
Jamie and Chad are doing well in school, when they are forced to do their homework and shut their mouths. They are growing like weeds, and I suspect both will end up taller than us.
I’m still in graduate school, but taking some time between classes here and there. Eventually I intend to go fall, winter, spring and take the summer term off. James is going to start working while the kids are in school.
We have aquired a cat, much to the chagrin of Darci and Notch. I think the dogs would very much like to eat Mittens, but she stays well away from them.
We have several projects lined up to do around the house. We are going to clear off the entire area of our land of undergrowth, and eventually fence the whole thing so the dogs can have lots of room to run and play. It will be a section at a time though starting with a privacy fence around the back yard area. The play house needs some work, and the shed just needs to be bigger. I still have 3 windows left to make screens for, and we will be screening in the front porch as we take out all the rotting railing from both front and back. Everything needs to be repainted.
I think that is enough for now.

Jamie and I went out flower observing this evening, because I have to check on them daily, and we found 6 four leaf clovers. 6! What are the odds??
